One of Australia's leading private property groups, Walker Corporation has signed a landmark agreement with Sunshine Coast Council and SunCentral Maroochydore to accelerate the development of the Maroochydore City Centre.
Projected outcomes include:
- $2.5 billion commitment
- 15,000 projected jobs
- $41 million forecasted profit for ratepayers
- 160,000 square metres of commercial and retail space
- 4,000 residential apartments.
Yesterday's historic announcement is a key milestone in the 53-hectare priority development area in the heart of Maroochydore.
The agreement will see Sunshine Coast Council retain ownership of the land until Walker Corporation delivers the buildings and infrastructure.
