US corporate giant sets its sights on the Sunny Coast with 250 jobs

Ann Lindner - Thursday, August 31, 2023
US-based business consultants GenPact would create its Australian base on the Sunshine Coast with an expectation of about 250 jobs in the first five years.
The decision was expected to generate about $150 million in economic benefits for the region, according to Mayor Mark Jamieson.
Genpact expected the new jobs would be in finance, insurance, IT and administration. The decision comes as the coast’s Maroochydore city centre takes shape.
Jamieson said Genpact’s selection of the Sunshine Coast was another boost for the region’s and the state’s growing financial and professional services sector, delivering more local jobs and flexibility for its employees.
“I am pleased to welcome our next globally listed, multinational public company into our region’s unique entrepreneurial ecosystem,” Jamieson said.
“Undertaking a competitive national site selection process and determining the Sunshine Coast is the best place in Australasia, going forward, speaks volumes to what we are creating within the region and the game-changing infrastructure that supports these opportunities – the Sunshine Coast International Broadband Cable, Maroochydore City Centre and Sunshine Coast Airport expansion to name a few.”
